    The first act of violence was committed by Cain.  Cain killed his brother, Abel, because he refused to submit to God's authority.  Cain allowed the power of sin to rule over him.  Both Cain and Abel offered sacrifices to God, however God was not pleased with Cain's sacrifice.

    When Jesus began his ministry after his baptism, he made sure to tell his disciples that he was going to suffer many things and that he would be killed and raised to life on the third day.  On three different occasions, Jesus told his disciples what was going to happen to him. However, just like us at times, they were not paying attention to what he said to them.

    God is Watching Over His Word to Perform It
    All of God's promises are yes and amen.  When we speak the Biblical promises over our lives, we are restating them out of divine communion with God.  We are not just confessing God's words as a magic formula, but of a divine revelation from God.  John 15:7 reads, "If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you," (AMPC).
